Take Exit 22 Onto The Mobius Strip | Henry Jordan-Reilly

There is no difference

Between aspiration and impatience,

Between a bright and a daunting

Future.

Months are not months.

They are a coarse, constructed

Point of reference.

Purgatory.

If I make it

Will I like what’s on the

Other side?

Maybe it will feel

The same.

Who cares about three months

Or six years

Or a lifetime?

Another person will be born

From lofty goals and pent-up energy.

They will do things

That I can’t understand.

Henry Jordan-Reilly is a senior at CCSU with a major in English. He is a writer of short stories, poetry, and film criticism.
