CCSU Police Blotter

April  1, 2026 – Central students went Fast and Furious last weekend, orchestrating a high speed race in Copernicus Garage. Officer Chase Yu reported the garage being set up to resemble a race track. The starting line was the highest floor entrance, leading to the finish line at the bottom. “The speeds these kids could pull off while turning . . . I was holding my breath. I was under the impression that someone would turn into Brian O’Conner and die halfway through their series.” Yu caught the cars after the second heat: a modified Chevy Cruze, a Lexus GS 350, and a Honda Civic. Each racer was fined for this stunt, but a present viewer alerted Yu of about ninety-five online fans demanding refunds for the unfinished session through his phone. “They were only in Round 2 of 5!” Said the junior student who goes by Maqueen. “We didn’t pay thirty dollars for an unfinished race!” Blue Muse reporters have heard rumors that the “Semester Cup” will resume in a different garage.

April 3, 2026 – Multiple distress calls blew up the police switchboard after the Elihu Burritt Library Starbucks closed early this morning due to a shortage of caffeine. Students were observed pacing the bottom floor for answers, while others sprinted towards Devil’s Den in a highly motivated, but emotionally fragile group. A new transfer student described the tense atmosphere as “apocalyptic. I’ve never seen so many people on edge.” She witnessed two engineering students bidding, dollar after dollar, for the last cup of cold brew. Another student stood motionless, staring at the darkened counter, whispering, “How am I supposed to finish my paper?” Central Java Officer Joe Brewster confirmed the closure was scheduled and clearly posted. However, students claim the timing was “psychologically targeted.” No physical injuries were reported, though several low exam grades and sudden mood declines were blamed on the caffeine shortage. Library productivity levels remain under observation. Still, no one is checking out books.

April 5, 2026 – Sunday morning, CCSU police department’s Avian Unit responded to a mass number of squawks at 3 a.m. Crusty eyed Mid-Campus residents swarmed outside the building. “We were woken up by the ruckus,” said Melanie Daniels, a shivering, blanket-clad sophomore. “It sounded like someone left Rio on full blast in the common room.” Both students and police were shocked to find pillow cases full of pigeons permeating the dormitory halls. “It’s just down right ill-eagle.” Officer Earl E. Bird responded when questioned about the birdnapping. “Plus, I haven’t even gotten my caw-fee yet.” Police were able to safely clear the residence hall of the foreign flyers, assuring students that it was safe to return to their coop. No suspects have yet been apprehended for this fowl play.
